Gasmasks and Bobbies, oh my!
Years ago, I worked a set of drawings known collectively as "Terrorists Gone Wild". I recently had a big brain dump of new imagery based on some of the same ideas. I wanted a break from Pirates and Fairy Tales for awhile, and to get back to Pen and Ink. I realized while working on this drawing how much I missed using quill pens and ink. I also remembered my fondness for seeing blue-line underdrawings on comic pen and ink drawings. I always liked the look of the underdrawing with the ink more than the final reproduced image, where the blue line would drop out. I used red pencil for this drawing, and wanted to make sure its lines stayed around as part of the final composition.
Oh yea, and the title of this piece is "CELEBRATION".

Demons
So I realized that I haven't posted much. I also realized that my lack of posting is not only because I haven't done much non-work related drawings lately, but also because I'm too lazy too scan all of the dozens of sketches I do every week. This is also probably because none of them are great, but then again, that's the whole point of a sketch blog.
With that in mind, here are a trio of demon doodles I did on the train. Their names are Pythias, Damien, and Santos.

Pirate Sketch!
I've been working on a lot on the Blood Volcano series of pirate paintings, but I haven't quite finished any. I have been doing some sketches on my tablet PC on the train, though. This is a sketch for "head island", done in Alias Sketchbook. This locale may make a cameo somewhere in the Blood Volcano series.
